At first glance, “speed” refers to the fastest possible transfer of large files or transporting enough data for an HD video. For audio over digital coax, “speed” is critical not in the sense of how-much-how-fast, but because timing in the digital stream is critical to the reconstruction of the analog waveform that brings the information, the music, and the emotions to the ear is. Timing errors (jitter) in the information within the data packets make the sound appear small and flat instead of three-dimensional, rough and foggy instead of smooth and clear.

SOLID 5% SILVER CONDUCTORS: When Perfect Surface Technology is applied to extremely pure silver, the result is unprecedented clarity and dynamism. Solid conductors prevent interaction between individual strands - a major cause of cable distortion. Extremely high purity Perfect Surface Silver minimizes the distortion caused by the grain boundaries existing in each metal conductor, almost completely eliminating harshness in sound and greatly improving clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers.

HARD-CELL FOAM INSULATION: Hard-Cell foam is used exclusively in most of AudioQuest's video and digital audio cables. Similar to PE foam, it contains nitrogen injections that create air pockets. “Hard” foam is used because the rigidity of the material ensures that the conductors within the cable do not change position relative to one another throughout the cable length, maintaining the characteristic impedance evenly.

To prevent “trapped” RF interference from affecting the device’s ground reference, the AQ noise dissipation system is required. Metal and carbon-containing plastics prevent most RF interference from reaching the device's ground plane.
