KRIX Theatrix 3-way LCR horn systems
The KRIX Theatrix 3-way speaker delivers incredibly dynamic and effortless performance. By using commercial cinema technology, Theatrix are able to produce high sound pressure levels with pristine fidelity and extremely low distortion. A special midrange driver improves performance and ensures excellent speech intelligibility.
- High acoustic performance
- Excellent speech intelligibility
- Massive dynamic range
Perfect for custom projects when building or renovating your home, Krix's 3-way bi-amp speakers provide excellent speech intelligibility in the critical speech range.
Krix's self-developed and patented 90 x 40 degree horn technology ensures constant directivity across the entire working range, while the mounting bracket can be rotated and tilted to ideally align the horn system to the listener.
The Theatrix are serious main front speakers for a truly serious dedicated home theater experience. It is a 3-way bi-amped screen speaker suitable for medium to large rooms. The addition of a dedicated midrange overcomes the demands placed on the treble component and increases performance.
By dividing the signal into three dedicated sections, the speaker produces outstanding speech intelligibility in the critical range of 1kHz to 3kHz. It's not often that you find smooth response, acoustic performance and wide dynamic range in one speaker model, but with the Theatrix you can have it all.
The Theatrix features a 380mm paper cone driver with a 77mm voice coil for increased linear excursion and a powerful, vented magnet assembly that ensures low distortion. The specially developed woofer offers excellent bass performance, high peak program capacity and high efficiency - it is suitable for very high sound pressure levels. The solid ferrite magnet structure contains components designed for maximum efficiency. The symmetrical gap geometry combined with the large linear voice coil travel ensures minimal distortion at all levels.
The dedicated midrange is delivered by a Krix-designed 90 x 40 degree constant directivity horn with 77mm throat, driven by a 165mm paper cone driver with large voice coil and neodymium magnet.
For high frequencies, the Theatrix has a 90 x 40 short-throw horn patented by Krix, which offers optimal dispersion of 90 degrees horizontally and 40 degrees vertically, which is maintained consistently across the entire working bandwidth. It is powered by a 25mm neck compression driver, a 32mm edge-wound aluminum voice coil and a Nomex tensioner. The constant directivity means far less sound is reflected from side walls and ceilings, ensuring sound energy is focused directly onto the listening position, resulting in better clarity.
The horn assemblies are attached to the bass housing with a sturdy mounting bracket that can be tilted both vertically and horizontally. The electronic filter network for the horn section is housed in a separate, well-ventilated housing mounted on the rear of the midrange horn. Professional, close-tolerance components ensure the system can handle the high sound pressure levels that well-recorded music and movies require. A separate electronic crossover is required between the woofer and the horn elements.
For the ultimate cinema experience at home, play it via Krix.
Home cinema can't be bigger or better than the Series X.
Built on decades of research and development experience, Krix X Series speakers and subwoofers feature the same technology used in Krix's internationally recognized commercial cinema speakers. They are designed for use in dedicated home theaters longer than 6 meters.
The X Series speakers require slightly more space at the front of your cinema room than the SX or MX Series and are designed for use behind large, acoustically transparent screens. They're not for small spaces... or for the faint of heart.
Larger rooms tend to be filled with more seats - and you want every viewer to get the most out of the experience. All Series
High power handling, a smooth frequency response and an incredible dynamic range ensure that your special cinema emits the highest quality cinema sound.
