Pro-Ject Xpression Carbon Classic represents the 6th generation of the best-selling Pro-Ject 1, which was first presented in 1991. No other entry-level model is designed to be as audiophile as this latest version proves, where the groundbreaking “EVO” technologies are used for the tonearm. Thanks to the innovative gimbal design and resonance-damping counterweight, it ensures the best possible performance for pickups. The proven belt drive with low-vibration and decoupled AC motor has a motor control comparable to the Speed ​​Box with a high-precision AC voltage generator that is supplied with DC voltage and ensures optimal speed stability. The elaborate construction of the sandwich platter is unique in this price range and uses the latest thermoplastic elastomer technologies (TPE), as also used in the Xtension models, to optimize resonance behavior. The platter axle is made of precisely manufactured chrome-plated stainless steel and rotates in a bronze bushing equipped with a Teflon base. The rigid frame is made of MDF, whose special absorber feet, thanks to TPE, effectively suppress the transmission of structure-borne noise.
