The rounded Sonitus Leviter Shape 8 absorber is 8 cm thick and absorbs broadband in the medium to high frequency range. The Sonitus Leviter Shape 8 broadband absorber is available in 5 different colors. These make it a versatile absorber that is also visually impressive. The high-quality polyester foam is provided with a coating that gives the product a velvet-like surface and the foam as such cannot be recognized.
Sonitus uses high-quality polyester foam: At Sonitus we have deliberately avoided using inexpensive polyether foam. Sonitus uses polyester foam fire protection standard FVSS 302. In contrast to polyether foam, polyester foam is much more durable and resistant to gasoline, oil, acetone, etc. and therefore also to aggressive adhesives in contrast to polyether foam.
Polyester and polyether belong to the polyurethane family (PUR). For marketing reasons, polyether foam is usually referred to as PUR because it is much cheaper than polyester. Polyester has significantly better acoustic properties than polyether foam and is resistant to UV light (so it doesn't crumble!!) Sonitus uses a higher quality for the EPS products we sell than is usual for inexpensive diffusers. This is reflected in a higher weight and a harder and smoother surface.
