Sony has given the new XW5000 the tried and tested X1 Ultimate chip from their reference flat screen TVs. This makes the projector significantly sharper. The video engine enables innovative data processing with real-time enhancement of each image object.

Sony has been using a special sharpening control in the menu called Realism for years. Of course, the internal sharpening processor also benefits a lot.

The VPL-XW7000 is the only projector from Sony to integrate this chip.

It doesn't matter whether the projection takes place in a bright living room or a dedicated home cinema. The Live Color Enhancer works absolutely reliably.
New reference lens in the Sony VPL-XW7000 with 12 glass lenses
The lens of the Sony VPL-XW7000ES is very high quality and offers well-known quality standards. A special Advanced Crisp Focus lens (ACF) was used here. A significant upgrade compared to the Sony VPL-VW790ES.
The glass elements ensure extra low dispersion and the focus unit is floating. The floating focus unit is worth mentioning since typical lenses only move a group of lenses to focus. The VPL-XW7000 and the ACF lens use two moving lens groups.
The result is that image curvature and impairments are no longer to be expected, and the lens also delivers a highly stable image with incredible edge sharpness. This performance is also guaranteed when zooming out or in.
An aspherical front lens with a 70mm diameter is used. There are also 12 glass lenses with extremely low dispersion to ensure excellent color results without major color deviations. Razor sharpness will be a quality feature of the XW7000.
Pure BRIGHTNESS with the new VPL-XW7000ES - 3,200 ANSI lumens
The brightness of the Sony VPL-XW7000ES has improved dramatically compared to the old VPL-VW series. The advantages are apparent. Complex living scenarios with a lot of room brightness should now be easy to master with the right screen (ALR). The XW7000 skilfully radiates large screens. It also benefits other applications.
The large XW7000ES laser projector still offers the display of 3D content. With this breathtaking brightness of 3,200 ANSI lumens, the 3D experience is fantastic.
The biggest advantage, however, is likely to be found in the playback of HDR content. In combination with the improved SXRD panels and the increased brightness, there will be excellent results here.
