Yamaha proudly looks back on over 60 years of experience as an audio brand. The R-N803D's technology is based on Yamaha's legendary HiFi concept ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology). ToP-ART maintains the integrity of the audio signal by combining several elements: the precise symmetry of left-hand and right-hand switching; the directness of the signal (as short and straight a signal path as possible); as well as a chassis with high rigidity and a special “Art Base” resin frame that absorbs and suppresses unwanted vibrations. This means that the unadulterated sound and the exact stereo image of the music are preserved.
Precise and powerful
Thanks to ESS Technology's renowned SABER 9006AS DAC, the R-N803D offers 192 kHz conversion at 24 bits and an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio. In conjunction with Yamaha's proprietary network module, the device can take full advantage of the sonic benefits of high-resolution sound sources. The R-N803D itself reproduces the subtle atmosphere of a concert hall and fine nuances in expression.
Optimized for the highest demands
The R-N803D is the first hi-fi receiver to be equipped with Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimiser (YPAO), a legendary technology used in Yamaha AV receivers. It records the room dimensions, the wall material and the position of the speaker and then automatically adjusts the sound. The R-N803D also has advanced YPAO functions: YPAO™-RSC (Reflected Sound Control) actively corrects the early reflections that are crucial for sound quality. YPAO Volume uses a high-precision EQ with 192 kHz and 64 bits. The result: You can create an ideal listening environment right in your home that is in no way inferior to a professional listening room. You can control YPAO features and view the results of the analysis via the MusicCast app.*

Maximum sound purity
In Pure Direct mode, the music signals bypass the isolation amplifier and the tone, loudness and balance controls. This prevents any damage to the signal and achieves the highest possible purity of the sound.

Sophisticated circuit design
The power amplifier implements the ToP-ART concept in the form of a symmetrical and direct circuit layout. Its push-pull structure uses a total of eight two-pole power transistors (four each on the left and right). By minimizing the audio signal path, we were able to reduce the impedance. This resulted in an outstanding output power of up to 145 watts per channel.

The R-N803D is equipped with Bluetooth® to give you hassle-free wireless playback from smartphones and other devices.
Your music throughout the house
MusicCast uses a powerful wireless network to get your music exactly where it's needed. This allows you to play digital audio content from your smartphone, computer or NAS on all MusicCast devices throughout the home. The R-N803D also shares music from external sources such as CD players or televisions with the entire multiroom system. Thanks to MusicCast, the content of smartphones and tablets connected via Bluetooth® is also available in every room upon request.
HiFi sound for the TV
The R-N803D has a digital audio input with optical and coaxial connection. For example, the sound from the television can be transmitted optically or the audio signal from a Blu-ray player can be transported via a coaxial connection. This means the signal remains digital throughout and you experience crystal-clear, dynamic sound from all your sources, whether from sports broadcasts and TV shows or from films and concerts.

The R-N803D's extensive connectivity options include dedicated phono inputs. A record player can be easily connected to this so you can enjoy your vinyl collection.
